I’ve created a new template for Ableton Live 8 users! Explore Freeform production in Live – the project uses both Live’s Clip view & Arrange View to ensure that you’ll get how to put tracks together for live performance use too! All sounds, samples and instruments are included in the download the project makes extensive use of Live’s Simpler instrument to provide most of the key melodic elements as playable instruments. The track also features beautiful vocal samples taken from DMS Acapellas Vol 3.
The project requires no 3rd party plugins, so all that you need to load up, edit and explore this track is Live Standard 8.4.2 or higher (also compatible with Ableton Live 9). Please note that users of older version of Live 8 may need to upgrade to the most recent version use this project.Download the Ableton Live Freeform Template here.

I came across an old track on Youtube today… “Kevin Energy, Sharkey & K Complex – The Baptism (Daniel Ro Remix) ” – the label says published in 2002 – this one takes me back to the early days of the Nu Energy Recs and UK Hard Dance sub-label Dynamix – way before the entire Nu Energy Collective project began!

Join K-Complex and explore the golden era of Freeform production in the early to mid 2000’s in this all new Logic project featuring a complete track arrangment. Using authentic sounds combined with new production values and of course that trademark K-Complex sound, this track explores all of the production elements that make up a banging UK Freeform track. The track makes use of Logic’s EXS24 sampler, ESM, ES1 and ES2 synth and includes classic K-Complex samples and presets used in many of his tunes. Featuring a chunky Freeform bass, twisting acid line and soaring lead arpeggio this track emulates K-Complex’s early work on Nu Energy Recordings, Bonkerz and Stompin Tunes along with many other key labels of the day. THE BIG ONE HUNDRED! At last it’s here – the final chapter! 10+ years in the making and the culmination of a label that’s pioneered an entirely different genre of Hardcore that now stands proud on its own. Having nurtured countless artists over the years, showcased the underground productions of established members of the scene, and of course been the home to the head of the NEC, Kevin Energy himself, this is the fitting farewell we offer you. Two landmark mixes brought to you by Kevin Energy b2b A.B, with one mix showcasing the tracks from the past that have shaped the identity of Nu Energy, and with the other mix offering you upfront remixes from the most current NEC-associated artists of classic beats gone by.
